I knew that Greece is full of beautiful places, but I didn’t think that this city would impress me so much. We came back for almost a month from our vacation, but I’m still dreaming about this beautiful Greek place. Really, I would love to come back in Kavala.
I’ve been very busy lately and that’s why I didn’t have time to write some travel impressions. However, I liked Kavala so much that can’t go unnoticed on my blog. So, I sincerely recommend you to visit this city, especially if you don’t want to venture to the remote islands of Greece. We did about 8 hours by car, but we also had a a few stop, considering that we traveled with our 1 year and 7 months baby.
When we finally entered the city, I have been impressed by the buildings with Mediterranean air. Palm trees and tall blocks with green terraces immediately caught my eyes. The apartment we stayed in, offered us the first beautiful surprise. We had a huge terrace overlooking the sea, so it was a big joy to wake up every morning with such a view.
Speaking about views, well Kavala offers beautiful sights from almost any direction. The next surprise was to discover that we are quite close to the center. We took a walk and we arrived at the port. The port is very beautiful and again, it offers some absolutely wonderful views. From here we saw the colorful buildings from the sea and the fortress.
We went up to the Kavala castle and after a pretty tough road we were rewarded with this image. It was worth it, wasn’t it?
As you can see this postcards speak better than words and maybe they will convince you to come here and see for yourself, it is an impressive city. I really wanted to visit the old town, but we didn’t go there anymore. I’m sure that is special place too, so a good reason to come back and discover also this area of Kavala. Maybe next year, when Vlad will be older, we will return to discover the streets from the old center.
Well, bye-bye for now dear Kavala, I hope to see you soon!
Ro:
Am plecat in recunoastere si am ajuns in port.
A meritat, nu-i asa?
