Milan is the city of creativity and fun in fashion. The city maintained its super creative status in the Fall Winter fashion shows. Even if the winter months are known for its grey and cold weather, Milan set the mood for Fall Winter as colorful, bold and fun!
Here are the top 10 trends that aught my eyes from Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2019/20
1. Graphic prints & patterns
Designers have decided that fall is the best season to release the most beautiful prints. They added a variety of colorful materials, graphic prints and color block patterns on the catwalk.
2. Classy black
Although bold colors are going to be a huge trend in spring 2020, there is always room for the fancy all black outfit. Black looks dramatic and elegant, even if we speak about a feather dress, a sheer blouse or a leather dress.
3. Romantic florals
There’s no season without romantic florals. The prints spotted on Milan catwalk look so beautiful and they look almost painted in Vivetta or Etro presentation.Embrace your inner lady with floral print dresses, bags, shoes, and even sunglasses. Soft floral prints offer a touch of femininity to warm weather style so you can bring out your girlish charm with every outfit and accessory you wear.
4. Geometric prints
Would you like to change the floral dresses for something more edgy? Liven up your wardrobe by giving bold geometric prints a go, because we are talking here about a huge sophisticated trend. Versatile and easy-to-wear, the bold colored circles and squares will add a contemporary twist to any outfit, so step out and make a statement!
5. Masculine touch
I love to see more and more androgynous looks walking down the runway. Masculine suits are one of my favorite fashion trends that have started to become more and more popular with each season. Oversized blazers are a great choice for a full masculine appearance or, you can always add a belt to emphasize the waist as a feminine accent.
6. Fashionable Hats
The statement hats stepped out in the spotlight to showcase an option that fit with every styles from spring 2019: dresses, lady like or even masculine suits. This is such a chic trend that we’re going to be happy to wear!
7. Transparencies
We were talking about feathers, shiny textures and tuxedos, but something was missing, the sophisticated transparent looks. By simply mixing little details, like lace, glitter or daring cuts, you’ll be able to “give your outfit a sublime touch” effortlessly chic but bold.
8. Warm blankets
The popularity of trenches and oversized coats will continue the next season. As practical outerwear, these kind of items are going to be used as a great companion to formal wear. They look so stylish, easy to add them over a dress or a pair of pants, creating the perfect balance between cozy and fashionable.
9. Ladylike dresses
Soft dresses made an appearance as part of Blumarine’s timelessly feminine collection, pairing well with an abundance of tulle and silk. Borognano and Vivetta gave us a precious ladylike touch, using tulle ruffles to decorate beautiful dresses that were also on the creative side when it came to design.
10. Cozy scarf
There was also a bohemian theme running through the fall 2019/2020 trends, with beautiful oversized scarf being a large contributor. Other example came from Missoni where boldly colored scarf-like fabrics were used to craft skirts and dresses. Models walked the runway in autumn-colored dresses decorated with a colorful scarf pattern.
